Syprett Meshad attorneys recognized as ‘Super Lawyers’ and ‘Rising Stars’
July 15, 2015 / Sarasota, Fla. — Super Lawyers has once again recognized attorneys from the Sarasota law firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. In its most recent rankings, the organization, which rates attorneys nationwide through independent research, as well as peer nominations and evaluations, named Syprett Meshad President Michael L. Resnick to its Florida Super Lawyers list for the ninth consecutive year, and included Syprett Meshad Managing Partner Nancy E. Cason in its “Rising Star” list for the fourth straight year.
Only 5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected for the Super Lawyer honor. Less than 2.5 percent are selected for the Rising Star distinction, which is reserved for those age 40 or younger. Resnick was selected in the category of Family Law, while Cason earned her nod in Real Estate. Both are listed in the June 2015 issue of Super Lawyers Magazine.
Lawyers selected to the independently researched Super Lawyers and Rising Star lists have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes a statewide survey of lawyers and peer reviews by practice area.
A founding partner and the current president of Syprett Meshad, Resnick has been recognized by his peers by his selection to the Super Lawyers list every year since 2007. His marital and family law practice of more than 40 years involves high-profile marital dissolution and post-dissolution cases involving substantial marital assets, complex property division, custody, alimony, child support, visitation and modification of marital settlement agreements. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, the United States District Court of Florida and the United States Supreme Court.
Cason serves as managing partner at Syprett Meshad. Her practice areas include real estate contract drafting, commercial and residential closings, short sales, title insurance, loan modifications, foreclosure defense, landlord/tenant litigation and commercial litigation. She is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and in federal court before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sarasota County Bar Association and volunteers with the Twelfth Judicial Circuit as a pro bono foreclosure defense attorney. The nonprofit Legal Aid of Manasota recently recognized her for her outstanding pro bono work in 2014.
