Attorney Scott Westheimer Named to Floridas Legal Elite for Third Consecutive Year

Syprett Meshad Managing Partner, Attorney F. Scott Westheimer, has been named to Florida Trend magazine’s prestigious “Legal Elite” list for the third consecutive year. Only 1,165 lawyers in Florida were named to the 2014 list, which represents just 2 percent of the more than 67,000 Florida Bar members active in Florida. Those named to the “Legal Elite” list are selected by their peers who are invited to name those attorneys for whom they have the highest regard or whom they would recommend to others.
Currently, Attorney Westheimer is in his second year of serving as the Twelfth Circuit Representative for the Florida Bar Board of Governors, representing more than 1,800 attorneys in Sarasota, DeSoto and Manatee counties. His law practice is focused primarily the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury matters and various aspects of commercial litigation. He has handled cases involving personal injuries, motorcycle and automobile accidents with severe injuries, premises liability matters, product liability litigation, medical malpractice litigation and commercial litigation. He is recognized as an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated™ attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
Attorney Westheimer received his Juris Doctorate, with high honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1996. While at the College of Law, Westheimer had the distinction of graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif. He was a Teaching Assistant in Appellate Advocacy and Legal Research and Writing, and participated in the International Law Program at Leiden University in the Netherlands in the Spring of 1996. Westheimer took his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with high honors, also from UF in 1993.
Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and Florida State Courts, Attorney Westheimer is an Ex Officio member of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. He serves his community in a variety of ways, including as a Past President of both the Sarasota County Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division, as well as serving on the board of directors of the Humane Society of Sarasota.
