It is with sadness that we announce that Partner Jim D. Syprett passed away September 13, 2025. Jim was an integral part of our firm for over 50 years and his passing is a tremendous loss for us personally and professionally.

Jim D. Syprett was born in Clarksville, Tennessee in 1941. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963 from the Vanderbilt University and in 1965 received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. Mr. Syprett was a member of the National Legal Honorary Fraternity Phi Delta Phi.
Mr. Syprett was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1966. In 1968, he joined with John Meshad to establish the firm under its original name of Syprett & Meshad, now known simply as Syprett Meshad.
Mr. Syprett’s practice involved primarily civil trial practice and commercial litigation. He also represented plaintiffs in personal injury matters, wrongful death cases, products liability and insurance law.
He had an “AV” rating by Martindale Hubbell and was admitted to practice law before the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
