Syprett Meshad Attorney Amanda M. King is celebrating her five-year anniversary with the firm in August 2015.
Ms. King joined the firm as an associate in 2010; she focuses her practice on family law matters, including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, alimony, injunctions and domestic violence. Ms. King is admitted to practice law in Florida, as well as California, where she worked previously as a Deputy Public Defender.
In 2012, Ms. King was honored by Legal Aid of Manasota with its “Outstanding Service by a Young Lawyer” award, in recognition of the more than 200 hours she donated to providing pro bono legal services to those in need in the community. She is a member of The Florida Bar, and has served as co-chair of the Family Law Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association (SCBA). She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the SCBA’s Young Lawyers Division, and speaks frequently to the public on family law matters.
Ms. King earned her Juris Doctorate in 2007 from Tulane University School of Law in Louisiana, where she served on the Board of the Public Interest Law Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, both from the University of Florida.
She volunteers with the Humane Society as a foster pet parent and serves on the board of the Sarasota County Gator Club, where she is Chair of the Scholarship Committee.
Ms. King is a longtime resident of Sarasota County and is a graduate of Venice High School.
