Sarasota attorney John D. Dumbaugh, partner with the law firm of Syprett Meshad, has earned board re-certification from The Florida Bar as an expert in the field of real estate law, bringing his recognition as a board-certified attorney to 35 continuous years. Attorney Dumbaugh was first certified in 1990; the current certification continues through 2025.
Board certified lawyers have met The Florida Bar’s highest standards for special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in the practice of law. Board certified lawyers’ experience and competency have been rigorously evaluated, and they are the only Florida lawyers allowed to use the letters B.C.S. to indicate Board Certified Specialist when referring to their legal credentials. Only seven percent of eligible Florida Bar members have earned board certification. Lawyers seeking certification must be members in good standing of The Florida Bar and must meet the standards prescribed by the state’s Supreme Court.
John D. Dumbaugh has been a partner with Syprett Meshad since 1984, after joining the firm in 1974. His practice areas are focused on real estate development, international real estate investment, title insurance, lending practice, and estate planning and estate administration. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, and Florida State Courts, and is an Approved Closing Agent for all area institutional lenders, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, and Attorneys’ Title Fund Services. As well, he serves on the circuit advisory team of Attorneys’ Title Fund Services for the 12th Judicial Circuit.
Our congratulations to Attorney Dumbaugh!
